NPLS Provides free civil legal services to low income families in Northeast Pennsylvania. We determine your eligibility based on: the specifics of your case or legal needs, your household income, and where you live (not all services are available in all counties). We are accepting new applications by phone Monday-Thursday from 9 - 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 - 4 p.m. by calling 877-953-4250 (no Friday intake). You can also apply online anytime by clicking the link below. We ask you to understand that response times may be delayed.

FRAUD ALERT: NPLS services are free; we do not charge any fees or expenses to our clients. If you are contacted by email, mail or phone by anyone claiming to be from NPLS asking for a “retainer fee” or any other fee or bill, please ignore it and let us know.

Eligibility Requirements

NPLS offers representation to low income families who need legal help.

In order to qualify for free legal services, your household income must meet requirements based on Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

NPLS may take into account some expenses (for example, employment-related expenses, child support paid out, and unusually high medical expenses) for households above these guidelines. Available services may vary by county. There may be income exceptions based on your legal problem.
