Unemployment Compensation benefits are available to help workers who have lost their jobs. In order to receive benefits, you must have been discharged for reasons that are not considered willful misconduct or laid off due to lack of work. You may also receive unemployment if you have quit your job for certain reasons. The Unemployment Center in your area will make a determination if your case qualifies you for benefits. It is important to file a timely appeal from any denial (the date your appeal is due is on your Notice of Determination).
