At least 150 low-income individuals with civil legal needs will get the help they need thanks to a $60,000 gift from the Northampton County Bar Association to North Penn Legal Services.  2016 marks the fourth consecutive year that the NCBA membership has demonstrated its belief in the importance of civil legal aid in Northampton County by funding a full time staff attorney at NPLS.

On Friday, April 8, North Penn Legal Services (NPLS) and LVCIL held a press conference at LVCIL .  NPLS and LVCIL staff highlighted the vigorous local efforts to combat housing discrimination throughout the Lehigh Valley.

  We are so grateful to receive a check for $43,396.00 which represents resdiual funds from a consumer class action case - Debra Hockenberry v. People First Federal Credit Union.  Attorney Cary L. Flitter presentated a check to NPLS Executive Director Vicki Coyle at our Bethlehem office.

Representatives from the Lycoming Law Association Foundation presented a check to NPLS on March 28 for $5,920.  This donation represents the Foundation's annual donation to NPLS.  

North Penn Legal Services (NPLS) is currently accepting applications from seniors 60 and older who reside in Luzerne County who would like to have Power of Attorney documents, living wills, and simple wills (NO detailed estate planning is provided). NPLS is a private, non-profit organization and all services are provided free of charge.

An outreach is scheduled for April 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Charles T. Adams Center located at 5 East Market Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network (PLAN) honored the recipients of the 2016 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Excellence Awards on March 15, 2016 at the annual awards dinner held at the Hilton Harrisburg.
The Keynote Speaker at the event was The Honorable J. Richard Gray, Mayor of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, who began his career as a legal aid attorney and later served as the director of the legal aid program serving Central Pennsylvania.
