Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Opens November 3

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP, opens on November 3, 2014.  LIHEAP helps low-income families pay their heating bills. LIHEAP is a grant that offers assistance in the form of a cash grant, sent directly to the utility company, or a crisis grant for households in immediate danger of being without heat.

The Bankruptcy Cure - CLE Program - 2.5 CLE credits

The Bankruptcy Cure CLE is designed for non-bankruptcy attorneys who advise clients in areas where bankruptcy might be a remedy (eviction, utility termination, repossession, judgment execution, foreclosure, real estate taxes, municipal liens, to name a few).  It will cover assumpton of leases, recovering repossessed property, discharging subordinate mortgages, stripping down secured loans, the mortgage modification mediation program, and use of bankruptcy to discharge or chure a variety of other debts.  It will also examine the effect that bankruptcy has on credit scoring.
